RapidStart is a tool within the Microsoft Dynamics system that allows users to:
- extract data from the database,
- import data into NAV
- update existing data in NAV
It is particularly useful during the implementation of Microsoft software, where it demonstrates its full capabilities and simplicity of operation. After generating the appropriate table in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to an Excel spreadsheet, users can copy historical data from previous ERP systems, such as the chart of accounts (images 1 and 2), supplier and customer lists, materials, inventory, price lists, as well as accounting entries and the opening balance. This prepared file can then be imported into the system with just a few clicks.

Furthermore, the system will verify the data and report any errors before applying them to the NAV database. This tool significantly simplifies life for NAV users, especially when a large number of records need to be imported into the system.

On a daily basis, the RapidStart functionality helps automate and accelerate data updates, for example, on inventory cards (image 3), materials, suppliers, and customers. Users can create their own layouts to facilitate the export, editing, and subsequent import of data.

For example, exporting the item table allows for editing dimensions, weight, volume, assigned suppliers, descriptions, and many other data points in Excel without the need to open individual records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
RapidStart, as a tool in the Microsoft Dynamics system, significantly streamlines operations. It automates, accelerates, verifies, and reports errors. It is therefore an invaluable aid when working with large amounts of data, where errors can easily occur.
